If you are on this link, it is probably because you are already eligible to learn Jyotisha. 

The discipline of Jyotisha requires students to maintain a Satwika lifestyle to a good extent. The bare minimum involves not consuming meat, alcohol and intoxicants. 

Above that, those with the intention to do good to society and life in general shall prosper in this further. 

Beyond that, a simple understanding of arithmetic is necessary. 

Meet the Adhyāpaka

Abhigya Anand is an internationally recognised astrologer and researcher renowned for his predictions, scriptural knowledge, and ability to make complex concepts clear. His teachings blend the precision of astronomical calculation with the wisdom of traditional Jyotisha.

Course Introduction

ज्योतिष प्रथमा is a comprehensive introduction to the science of Jyotisha, combining astronomical precision with timeless astrological principles. We have begun enrollments for students who have applied 

 

Developed and taught by Abhigya Anand, this program covers both the mathematical foundations and interpretative elements of chart reading.

Structured as a step-by-step learning journey, it equips you with the skills to understand planetary positions, calculate horoscopes, and interpret fundamental combinations, while grounding you in the philosophy and ethics of Jyotisha. 

Upon the completion of the course, students will be able to:-

1. Have a very clear understanding of what Jyotisha is.

2. Understand the movements of the Grahas and be able to picture it in their mind

3. Be able to identify patterns and even predict to a significant extent depending on their practice. 

4. Be able to understand even advanced concepts in the next course.

We prefer the concept of live and in-person teachings. Students are encouraged and expected to join as many live classes as they can as that brings an inexplicable difference to the quality of the teaching and understanding, especially with an esoteric subject such as Jyotisha. Spontaneity and serendipity win over a mechanical approach anyday, in this space. There are classes where verses are explored and lectured on directly from the Brhat Parashara Hora Shastra and the Brihat Jataka, by Abhigya Anand. 

Fee structure

Monks in any renounced spiritual order will have their fees waived off, so will Brahmacharis who are currently studying in Gurukulas. 
We also provide scholarships and financial support to exceptional students, alongside funding and other resources for advanced research.

Learning mode

Classes begin 18th October, 2026.

The most ideal learning mode for an esoteric science such as Jyotisha is learning the subject in live classes, and even more so, in-person classes. Since the logistics of an in-person class are currently still under development, we have opted for the closest learning experience to it, live classes on Zoom every weekend.

​

Through the duration of the course, we have live classes conducted through Zoom every Saturday and Sunday, spanning an hour to an hour and a half. (One Hora/predictive framework class and one Ganita/astronomy/calculation class, every week)

The Phalita classes will be taught by Abhigya Anand ji. 

The Ganita classes will be taken by the Ganita Adhyapaka, Chandramouli Viswanathan ji. You may know more about him here. 

There shall be 48 classes + about 10 contingency sessions and 4 tests.

Every two weeks there will be a few fun activities + a couple quizzes and every month, one minor test.

Advanced student support documents, and interactive tools have been created for a more fun and smooth learning experience. There is a handbook, calculation training documents, and a community of experts to ask questions to + live Q&A sessions every week. 

​

The final examination will be held in April 2027 and those who pass said examination can then gain access to the next course plus a certificate to mark their completion of this course. 

We currently have a limit of 100 students for the current batch and late applicants will be moved to the 2027 batch, as the learning model is through live classes. ​
